BURTON, MI –The Burton Planning Commission is drafting an ordinance. The proposal if passed by the City Council would allow recreational marijuana businesses in the city. The restrictions would be similar to what is currently in place for medical marijuana.
At this point, it might not come before council until September. In order for a municipality to have a say in recreational business applications. There must be an ordinance in place before the state starts taking license applications, Deputy Planning Official Amber Abbey said.
