On the state’s east side, in northern Michigan, state police shut down a significant marijuana grow operation.

More than an hour north of Saginaw, in Ogemaw County, according to Michigan State Police, a search warrant was carried out.

The Marijuana and Tobacco Investigation Section of MSP obtained two search warrants for residences associated with a significant illegal marijuana grow operation in Richland Township in collaboration with the county prosecutor’s office.

On February 15, the search warrants were carried out.

More than 5,400 marijuana pot plants were seized as part of the investigation, along with more than 100 pounds of processed marijuana.

The suspects allegedly violated a number of laws, including the Regulation and Taxation of Marijuana Act of 2018 and the Medical Cannabis Act, which was passed in 2008, 2016, and 2016, respectively.
