Thieves executed a bold heist, making off with an impressive $600K in cannabis from a corporate grower in Michigan, with over 1,000 pounds of premium flower stolen.
Oct 24, 2024 – Recently, over 1,000 pounds of marijuana were reported stolen from a corporate cannabis grower located in West Michigan.
A theft involving over $600,000 worth of flower took place at 305 Farms, which spans 39 acres dedicated to cultivating and processing tens of thousands of cannabis plants in Lawrence located approximately 30 miles west of Kalamazoo.
There may have been individuals with insider knowledge who were involved.
305 Farms, like many cultivators throughout the state, has been struggling.
In July 2024, employees sued the company for allegedly failing to pay them thousands of dollars in wages.
Michigan’s legal cannabis market is oversaturated, leading to unprecedented low prices that have posed significant challenges for cultivators.
And then this happened at the same place…
Michigan cannabis manager boldly sells off the harvest to address outstanding payments to employees.
Oct 28, 2024 – The GM of 305 Farms is under investigation for potential criminal charges stemming from the sale of 660+ pounds of cannabis, with the proceeds amounting to almost $270,000 reportedly used to compensate his employees for back wages.
Employees claim they were warned by the company that termination would occur if they failed to return the funds from the sale. 305 Farms has experienced a significant loss of employees over the past year.
Allegedly they have been enduring a work environment characterized by threats, humiliation, lack of compensation, and excessive stress.
It is said that the company owed more than an estimated $1 million in unpaid wages before his defiant sale.
Sounds like some unhappy people had a small “insurrection” to find out and do what was right.
Stay tuned…
