Individuals who consume daily are faced with a 25% increased likelihood of experiencing a heart attack and a staggering 42% heightened risk of suffering a stroke
Public attitudes towards the risks linked to marijuana use have notably softened in recent years as a growing number of states embrace the legalization of the substance for both medical and recreational use.
Health experts are increasingly urging individuals to reconsider potential risks as emerging studies highlight significant concerns surrounding usage.
“Our understanding of the consequences of cannabis use is limited but rapidly evolving,” Angelos Katramados, director of the acute stroke unit at Henry Ford Health said.
“At this point in time, it is critical to have high quality prospective research, as well as active surveillance programs on the prevalence of marijuana use now and in the future.”
A recent study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association revealed that individuals who consume daily are faced with a 25% increased likelihood of experiencing a heart attack and a staggering 42% heightened risk of suffering a stroke when compared to those who do not engage in such consumption.
